Fun Family Board Games
Welcome back to an Evening in the Stormcave!
This time around, Grant and I are talking about some of the board games our families love to play together!
Here is where you can find the games we talked about (these are affiliate links, so if you purchase from them I do get a teensy commission):
QUACKS OF QUEDLINBURG - great for all ages, good for younger kids (7+) each person has their own board, simultaneous play, hard to “mess” with each other’s strategy. Out of stock on Amazon. Small press game company.
CARCASSONNE - great for probably 8+ ages, turn-based, you can mess with other people’s strategy but much of the game is very random, lots of different strategies, no reading ability needed: $30-$35
SPLENDOR - great for all ages 7+, no reading ability needed, “thrift shopping/bargain hunting” type strategy, fast-paced, turn-based: $30-35
UNSTABLE UNICORNS - card game, turn-based, can be a little cut-throat, easy for 7+, reading ability required, can take a bit longer: $15-16
HERE TO SLAY - card based game, turn-based, reading ability required, great for 9+, mostly trying to do your own thing, can mess with each other’s strategy a bit: $20
EVERDELL - turn-based, LOTS of set-up, worker-placement, cute artwork, reading ability required, great for 10+ (though younger kids may enjoy playing on a “team” with Mom or Dad): $65-70
GHOST FIGHTIN’ TREASURE HUNTERS - super easy, cooperative (all players are working together against the board), great for 4+, no reading ability required, younger kids can play by themselves, but it’s fun for adults too: $25
TINY EPIC DINOSAURS - great for 8+, worker-placement, lots of different strategies to use, dinosaur themed, reading ability required: $20-25
