NIGHTSTAND BOOKS OF MAY

Good afternoon, dear Readers. I am happy to announce that I actually finished all but one of my April Nightstand Books (not that that is in any way a requirement of the game!) - and quite a few others besides. I went on a Middle Grade kick with titles such as "The Princess Curse," "Handbook for Dragon Slayers," "Dragon's Egg," and "Mary Poppins," which I simply had to read after watching "Saving Mr. Banks."

I'm sort of in this mode of feeling behind on everything right now. Editing is... not going well. My house is... not tidy. My blog posts are... late. And there's no end to the chaos in sight.

Of course, giving up reading is NOT the answer... but easing up on the pace might be beneficial. So, this month's nightstand book-stack is a bit shorter than last month's... and I may not make it all the way through.

Nightstand BooksEnder's Shadow is still on the list, but it's last on the list, as I've read it before.

Currently, I've just begun my first "Dresden File" book, because I've been curious about it for a while and finally managed to get my hands on the first book (courtesy of the generosity of a friend) Storm Front by Jim Butcher. I'm about a chapter in, and so far, I'm enjoying it.

The hard-to-read one is book two of The Sisters Grimm series, titled "The Unusual Suspects." I'm not sure I'm going to finish the series... I didn't fall in love with the first book, but I went ahead and got book 2 to see if they get better. The first one was fine, it just wasn't as entertaining as I'd hoped.

And finally, I got the book City of Ember out, based on DJ's recommendation in one of the Six Degrees posts from a few weeks ago.

I'm sure there will be other books... I'm a library-addict. However, I'm hoping to pace myself a bit more through the month of May, in an attempt to get more work done on YORIEN'S HAND.I may be blogging a bit less again as well.

NIGHTSTAND BOOKS is an original blog meme created by myself and DJ Edwardson. If you would like to participate you can do so in one of two ways: 1) leave a comment telling me what you're reading this month, or 2) take a picture of the books you're reading and talk about them on your own blog, making sure you link back to this blog or DJ's blog. My linky list widget is currently not working, so please, head on over to DJ's NIGHTSTAND BOOKS POST and enter your name and the URL of your own Nightstand Books post so we can all see what other people are reading this month (and maybe get some good recommendations for next month's reading list!)

So, dear Reader, what's on YOUR nightstand?
