I got to ask Clara one interview question.
Question: You find yourself in a dark cave, surrounded by beautiful - but mostly useless - treasure (goblets and rings and such, but no weapons). You have been captured by a fire-breathing dragon who informs you that his intent is to eat you unless you can give him a good reason not to. How would you proceed?
Clara: Oh dear. I’m not witty, so I couldn’t challenge him to a duel of riddles, and I would probably be too flustered to think of some sort of clever game to amuse him. I don’t suppose this dragon is the sort from Dealing With Dragons who wouldn’t mind a housekeeper and cook? If housekeeping didn’t work, I’d try singing for him. He’d probably want me to write a ballad about all the foes he’s vanquished...
PLEASE tell me I have a handsome prince or peasant on his way to rescue me! If not I might wind up a rather crispy dragon morsel.
Oh, this was a fun question, Jenelle! Made me realize I need to have a game-plan if a dragon ever captures me…
