Flashback Friday: Stone Curse Plotting

Hello, dear Reader!Back in the Fall, when I was writing Stone Curse (then titled "Stone Rose") I wrote a few posts about the process of the story. Since I have some new followers since then, some of which are here to learn more about the Five Enchanted Roses stories, I thought I'd post the links to those posts for you to read... or re-read.In this post, I discussed a few of the versions of Beauty and the Beast that I am familiar with, and what I don't like about them or where I feel there were plot holes that I would want to change in my own version of the story.(Note, there are several versions and re-tellings of Beauty and the Beast that I absolutely love, and I do not think I have ever read the original tale in its entirety... this is just a post talking about the few versions that have things I don't like in them - and those things got me started as I looked at creating my own re-telling of the fairy tale). In this post, I talked about the questions I asked myself as I drafted, outlined, and wrote "Stone Curse."And finally, in this post, I shared one of the breakthrough moments I experienced as I wrote my entry for the Five Enchanted Roses project, and I even provided a short excerpt from "Stone Curse." But wait! There's more! Because several of the other Five Enchanted Roses authors had also written posts back before the winners were announced. I don't have them all just yet, but I'll be adding them throughout the day, so be sure to pop back over here later and see what's been added! Here is Hayden Wand's post from back in September about the challenges she faced while drafting her Beauty and the Beast retelling, entitled The Wulver's Rose. Here also is Kaycee Browning's post from November on the inspiration behind her tale: Esprit de la Rose. Here you can see Savannah Jezowski's Pinterest Board that she created for her Five Enchanted Roses Project. And HERE you can read some of the inspiration behind her short story: Wither.
