SOMETHING TO MISS

This is an extra post - and not about the cover reveal - but I had to share that my sister has a second song up on Youtube with footage of her recording it live, in-studio.

While I love all of her songs, this one is quite near and dear to my heart as this past Fall my parents and sister moved out of the house I grew up in  in West Chicago, Illinois and relocated to Washington (which is about as far away from North Carolina as you can get without leaving the country). This song speaks about how no matter where you are at in life, there will always be "something, someone, some why, some way; somewhere, sometime, somehow, some day... there is always somethin'...." that you will miss.

Here's the video, and below I've posted the lyrics for you. Enjoy!

Something to Missmusic and lyrics by Brittany Jean

A memory takes my mind from time to timeA friendly face or a favorite placeI’d forgotten that was mineAnd suddenly I’ve got a smileA reverie of harmony for just awhile

Like a three-week trip to the East CoastNiagara Falls and ferry boatsAll I know is thisThere’s always something to miss

I heard the news through the grapevine yesterdayThe brightest smile that I’ve ever seenWas lost and gone awayAn open door to local straysI close my eyes and just pretend I know your face

Take him with wherever I goCountry Roads and AspenglowAll I know is thisThere’s always someone I’ll miss

Camping out in the back—we’re Slap Jack kingsDown a block through the cornfieldsJust to watch a church-bell ringIt’s Christmas Eve, we need a treeA “Dreamer” day at the racetrack, just my dad and me

Like a baseball game beneath the lightsPony League and firefliesAll I know is this

Somethin’, someone, some why, somewaySomewhere, sometime, somehow, somedayThere is always something

Like a three-week trip to the East CoastNiagara Falls and ferry boatsAll I know is thisThere’s always something to miss...
