An Echo of the Fae Audio Book

Now Available as an Audiobook!

Dear Reader, I am so excited to be able to announce that the audiobook of An Echo of the Fae is now available!

Narrated by Brenna Colleen Castor and available at an audible store near you!

I’ve been keeping this project a little close to the vest because I kind of wanted it to be a surprise, but I started the process of hunting for an audiobook narrator all the way back in August of 2021! And believe me, keeping this a secret until January was super difficult!

It took a little while just to pick a narrator. Let me tell you, I did not expect to get so many auditions! I got like, 12. Or maybe more. I don’t remember. And they were all quite fabulous, and narrowing it down was extremely hard. Thankfully, I had a lot of help from my family. My brother and sister-in-law were here and listened to a few of the first auditions with me, and then later, my mom and my sister were here and they listened to a few more with me as well. And of course, my husband listened to many of them as well.

But in the end, I could only choose one.

And Brenna Colleen Castor’s voice really stood out to us all. I remember that my sister, Brittany, mentioned that she could tell that Brenna was smiling during a certain part of the audition (and yes, you can hear a smile). I liked her “storyteller” style and her easy-to-listen to voice.

The only problem was, she had done the audition in an American accent, which wasn’t quite right for the story. I wanted something that hinted a little at the Scottish folklore and mythology that I had studied for this story.

So I contacted her and asked if she could do a British/Scottish accent. She responded right away with a new audition… and I was sold!

It was such a treat working with Brenna. She really brings the heart and soul of the story alive. As a voice actor, one of the things I love most about her is how she really pinpoints the main emotion of every scene, pulls it out with her voice, and absolutely knocks it out of the park.

She also does some pretty epic voices for my tiny fae-dragons!

I have to admit, that I’m completely and totally spoiled now. I’ve gotten the chance to work with two absolutely fantastic narrators, and as a bonus, both of them really seem to have fallen in love with my stories! As an author, it’s just such a blessing to get to work with a narrator who really gets the story and loves it, too. I guess one could work with a narrator who didn’t love the story, but I can’t imagine that would be any fun.
