EXTRA CHEESE, PLEASE!
Since it's Friday, today's "E" post will be short and sweet. :)
I like cheese. EXTRA cheese... even on Chicago style pizza, which comes with buckets of it anyway. But I still always order extra cheese!
Today's post is about a different kind of cheese, but I had to mention Chicago-style pizza, because... well, because it's me!
Have you ever shared a movie with a friend or family member and had them pronounce it, "Cheesy?" Maybe it was something you'd loved since childhood, so the cheesiness was something you didn't even notice anymore, or never noticed. Maybe it just wasn't their cup 'o tea, but they couldn't come up with any other reason not to like it, so they dismissed it as "cheesy."
Trying to define what is meant by a label of "cheesy" is like trying to define the word "the." I dare you to try... using a dictionary is cheating!
I have come to realize that, like beauty, "cheesy" is often in the eye of the beholder, and each person has a different tolerance for it.
I have an extremely high cheese tolerance when it comes to movies. Maybe it's because I grew up on The Wilderness Family and The Neverending Story and Savannah Smiles... but I gravitate toward stories that most others would write off as "cheesy." But I don't care. I just love them. There tends to be something so wholesome and charming about most "cheesy" movies.
So... as with my pizza, when it comes to movies my order is, unashamedly, "Extra Cheese Please!"
How about you? Do you have a high or a low tolerance when it comes to cheese? What's your favorite "cheesy" movie?
