Future Fairy Tales

Hello, dear Reader! I'm continuing my series of posts answering questions about Stone Curse or expounding on questions that were asked at the launch party. Today's question is:Do you have any plans to write more fairy tale retellings? Will you ever return to the world of Stone Curse to write further stories?I have always loved fairy tales - and I really enjoyed writing my Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast retellings - so I am sure that I am not done with them. My Grandpa gave me a book of fairy tales when I was very little (six or seven) and I devoured it. I loved reading all the stories, especially the more obscure ones, and though I love the Disney animations, I often feel vaguely dissatisfied by many of them. I really enjoyed writing Stone Curse and filling in the “plot holes” I perceived in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”The Cinderella story that I wrote for the Five Glass Slippers contest is next on my list of priorities (right after Yorien's Hand is completed and my first pass of edits on book #4 is done and I've handed that off to my line editor). I am collaborating on that with a very good friend who is doing some illustrations for it and I am so excited to introduce you to her talents and to that story!I hadn't really thought about future stories in the world of Stone Curse until this question was asked, to be perfectly frank. I don't have any ideas at the present moment, but that doesn't mean inspiration won't strike.

Currently, I don’t have any plans to write any more retellings in the near future, as I said, I have several other projects that need to be attended to first. But I am sure I will return to fairy tales eventually. I have a retelling of “The Princess on the Glass Hill” bouncing around in my head, though I'm not sure where it's going, yet. I’ve discovered that it’s quite a lot of fun to have a smaller project to work on every now and then, they are more manageable than my normal, longer endeavors! It's really nice to be able to see a project from concept to completion in such a short amount of time.

And that's it for questions, unless you have others you'd like me to answer! Thanks for reading, I hope you've enjoyed this little series of mine.
