Kendra E. Ardnek Book Cover Overhaul!

So... I am a terrible person, and I agreed to help spread the word about my author-friend, Kendra's book overhaul. No, that is not why I am a terrible person. You see, I neglected to pay attention to the date that it was supposed to go live (hint: it was yesterday), so I am posting this a day late.A WIZARD IS NEVER LATE!Same goes for sparkly plot wizardesses.Ahem.HOWEVER... I really do want to tell you all about Kendra and her books! I have actually been wanting to review the ones I have already read for a while, now, as I have read and absolutely loved her first three novels in the Bookania Quests. But when I found out that she was going through and re-editing them, I decided to wait until they were done. So it has been with great excitement that I have been following along reading Ms. Ardnek's updates about the editing and re-release of her books!OverhaulAnd today... er... yesterday (because I'm a delinquent) is the day that she is revealing all the shiny new cover art!She has already released the new version of the first Bookania book: Sew, It's a Quest, which you can buy in paperback form HERE or get a free e-copy HERE.Sewing8 (2)I love this book. And I LOVE the new cover! I have the old version sitting on my shelf, but I am definitely going to have to purchase the new versions. Sew, It's a Quest is the first story in a tale of a brother and sister, twins, who were given the wrong gifts by their fairy godmothers. Robin, the princess, is a wizard with a sword, while Robert, the prince, is a genius with a needle. The two of them decide to set off to find their fairy godmother and ask her to switch their gifts to the correct twin... but this might be a bit difficult, as fairy godmothers don't exactly hang out around the kingdom much anymore, and the fact that Robin and Robert even HAVE a fairy godmother is odd in and of itself. As they traverse their kingdom, they encounter difficulties and make some new friends along the way. This book and series is packed full of familiar faces, as it is a veritable haven for fairy tale and legendary characters. If you enjoy fairy tales like Sleeping Beauty and legends like Robin Hood and King Arthur, and you've always wanted to see them all in one epic adventure... this is definitely the series to read! The rest of these have not been re-released yet... but we can still drool over the new covers together. (But don't get the covers wet! Seriously)The next book in the Bookania Quests is Do You Take This Quest?Taking9 (2)

A prince’s quest for allies against his misery uncle and a madcap race to get home for a wedding...

I don't want to give too much away... and it's always harder to review sequels, because they sort of depend on a need to understand the stories that came before it. But this is a fantastic follow-on to Sew, It's a Quest. You meet some new characters, and get to spend plenty of time with the ones you grew to love in the first book. This is also the story that introduces Arthur... and, what can I say? If it has a hint of Arthurian legend in it... I'm generally smitten.

Then we have My Kingdom for a Quest:

Kingdoming4 (2)

Prince Arthur’s quest to take back his kingdom, and Casperl’s quest to find out how, exactly, he’s a prince.

This one is my favorite of the series so far... and I NEED the next book!!! But it also ends on a great note, so I'm not hanging off a cliff or anything while I wait.

The rest of these I have not read yet.... but definitely plan to read in the near future as they are re-released:

The Ankulen

THE ANKULEN

Jen knows she had an imagination once – how far will she go to get it back?

Water Princess, Fire Prince

wpfp 2017 formatted cover

When two teens are pulled into another world, fire and water must work together to defeat a dragon.

I have not read this one yet, but I do have a copy of the first edition sitting on my bookshelf. It is very high up on my To-Be-Read stack!

And finally, Lady Dragon, Tela Du

lady dragon tela du 2017 gimp

Only the Tela Du stands in Amber’s way for ruling Rizkaland forever. Petra would much rather find her long-lost sisters than fight a Lady Dragon.

Dragons... sounds very promising!

ALL THE PRETTY BOOKS!

But don't go yet! Because Kendra is also doing a huge giveaway where you could win a grand prize of ALL SIX of these books, signed by the author herself! I... sort of hope to win that prize myself... but in the spirit of good sportsmanship, I suppose I should tell you that you can find all the details on how to enter the giveaway over on HER WEBSITE. The giveaway is running through October, so there's lots of time to earn your entries. Comments on this post count for entries, as well, so let's talk about those covers... which one is YOUR favorite? Have you read any of the original versions of Ms. Ardnek's work?

I believe you can get more entries by swinging by the other blogs that helped with the cover reveal and leaving comments... you can find them at the following sites:
