PREQUEL or SEQUEL

So, what exactly IS Second Son? Prequel or sequel?

Well, actually, it's kind of both. I wrote King's Warrior first. When I finished that story, I realized that there were many unknowns about Brant that could make a very interesting story if I delved into his past. Thus, Second Son was born.

Prequel or Sequel: King's Warrior is still book One. It is meant to be read first. However, Second Son does take place chronologically before the start of King's Warrior. So, it's a prequel chronologically, but it's a sequel in that it is, in fact, the 2nd book in the series. However, either book can be read as a stand-alone. They are completely separate stories. You can read them in whatever order you like and not be confused. I personally think it's better to read them in publication/written order than in chronological order... but I'm the author, so I'm understandably biased.

What characters will we see in Second Son? There are a lot of new characters in this book, but you will recognize many of the characters you met in King's Warrior as well. Brant is, of course, the central character - but you will also get some more time with the four wizardesses (Calyssia, Dylanna, Leila, and Zara), and with Arnaud. The elusive Kiernan Kane even makes a few special guest appearances (WHAT?).

And, since you can't talk about prequels without at least nodding to the ones who brought the term out of the dusty shadows and made it popular with the masses... and because I just can't resist a good Star Wars meme...

When is the book going to be available? I will let you know as soon as I know! (Just waiting on cover art).
