SCAVENGER HUNT DETAILS

Dear Reader, I have to confess something today. Most of the time, I don't feel like a "real" author. Most days, this author thing seems like an impossible dream, or just something I do on the side. When people I meet ask me what I "do," I tend to respond by pointing to my two beautiful daughters and saying, "I'm their Mommy."

And that is my full-time job, my ministry, my calling, and my greatest joy in life. Raising these precious gifts alongside my best friend and husband is truly more rewarding than anything else I've ever done.

In the fabulous movie, Chariots of Fire when Eric Liddle is talking to his sister, he assures her that he knows God did indeed make him for a purpose, for China. But then he says, "But he also made me FAST, and when I run, I feel his pleasure." Sometimes, our calling or our "purpose," if you will, is just a little bit bigger than one particular thing.

I feel this way at times. I know it is my "purpose" is to raise these two, sweet baby girls and teach them to race towards God and learn to love Jesus. And I love that job so very much.

But God also made me a writer. He gave me a love for fantasy and good stories, and He gave me a talent for creating my own tales and characters and worlds. Writing isn't just something I "do" on the side. It's part of who I am. I am extremely blessed to have so many people in my life who support and encourage me in this.

And, lately, I am blessed to have been befriended by a fellow author who has invited me to participate in something that I am just so very excited to tell you about. In a few weeks, there is going to be a blog-tour-scavenger hunt. 31 authors are participating, and I get to be one of them!

I told you on Wednesday that I would explain more today what this whole "Scavenger Hunt" thing is about. So, as promised, here are the details!

Scavenger Hunt Button

How it works: during the week of November 30 - December 6 we will each be posting something on our blog (either an interview or a guest post of some sort from another author in the scavenger hunt), as well as a CLUE and information about where to go to find the next clue. Your job, dear Reader, will be to collect the clues, so that you can enter into the drawing for the GRAND PRIZE. And let me tell you, the Grand Prize is pretty awesome!

+Our Grand Prize Winner will receive an iPad Mini, as well as a copy of one book from each author participating in the scavenger hunt.

+Our Second and Third Prize Winners will each receive a copy of one book from each author participating in the scavenger hunt.

Who else is participating in this Scavenger Hung? I'm so glad you asked! If you've been reading this blog for very long, you'll probably recognize a few of these names from authors I've had the pleasure of interviewing before, and some you might recognize from your own reading lists. (If you click on a name, it should take you to their website/blog. Please take a minute to check out a name or two and familiarize yourself with some of the other amazing authors who will be helping to host this scavenger hunt!)

Brock Eastman, Alexander Marestaing, Karen Whiting, Nancy I. Sanders, Simonetta Carr, Donita K. Paul, LB Graham, Robert Treskillard, Douglas Bond, Morgan Busse, Rachel Starr Thomsen, Serena Chase, Amy Green, Chris Miller, Jonathan Friesen, RJ Larson, Anne Elisabeth Stengl, Shannon Dittermore, Kerry Nietz, Jill Williamson, CA Beninati, JL Mbewe, Matt Mikalatos, DJ Edwardson, Robert Liparulo, Ronie Kendig, Heather Burch, James L.
